“Chris, don’t worry about it. They’ll love you!” Emma told her friend. Her friend was tall, gorgeous like a model. Chris wore a schoolgirl type of outfit for her first day of Degrassi High School. She wore a tight shirt that said, “Rock ‘N’ Roll will save your soul” and a black-gray plaid skirt. She had black knee high socks and black Chucks to end her outfit. Her skin was a perfect mocha color. Her hair was curly and black with red high lights.

“I hope so. I wouldn’t want anyone to know I’m related to you know who.” Chris said. Emma nodded.

“Emma!” Emma turned on her heel. It was Craig Manning. He was tall, dark and handsome just like Chris liked.

“Hey Craig.” Craig smiled at the fact that there was at least one girl who would talk to him. Then looked down at the ground for a moment. He saw a pair of Chucks. His eyes followed the Chucks up to the skirt to the tight shirt to the ruby red lips to the green eyes and back down to the ruby lips as a smile appeared.

“Hey.” He said trying to play cool.

“Hey,” the girl with the ruby lips said. “I’m Chris.” She answered as though reading his mind.

“I’m Craig.” He responded stupidly. The new girl oddly looked familiar.

“Is there a last name with that?” She asked. She was flirting and he knew it.

“Manning. Craig Manning.” He said. She put out her hand for him to shake it.

“Christine. Sierra Christine.” She smiled again as he took her hand. “But everyone calls me Chris.”

“A girl with two names how fun.” Craig, Emma, and Chris heard someone say. It was Jay, followed by Alex and Sean.

“Where’s Ellie, Sean?” Emma asked noticing his girlfriend wasn’t with him.

“We broke up.” He replied softly.

“Aren’t you going to introduce us, Emma?” Chris said surprisingly.

“Yeah, Mother Earth, aren’t you going to introduce us?” When Emma didn’t answer, Jay spoke for her. “I’m Jay, this is Alex and Sean.” Right away, Alex glared at her.

“Let’s go.” Alex said. She starting to make her way up the steps but stopped when she saw that Sean and Jay were still talking to the girl with two names.

“So where you from?” Jay asked.

“LA.” Chris replied without hesitation.

“Well, maybe I’ll talk to ya lata, LA.” Jay said. Then he and Sean left. Craig stood behind Chris with a shocked look on his face.

“So, you gonna show me around?” Chris said. She speaking to Emma but Emma was just standing there with a blank look on her face.

“Actually, I think that Craig should show you around. It’s safer and you two are in the same grade.” Emma responded staring at the steps.

“What do you mean ‘safer’?” Chris asked.

“Jay is bad news.” Craig said.

“Oh. Why didn’t you say so before I flirted?” Chris said, thinking she was just joking.

“Emma?” Her smile had faded because her friend was hurt. Just then the bell rang.
