“Lexi, please, don’t do
this.” Jay pleaded. There was an angry but sad voice on the other end of his cell phone and then a click.
“Hey Jay.” Emma said coming
up behind him.
“I can’t believe she found
someone else.” Jay said with disbelief.
“Alex found another ‘Jay’
in America, huh?” Emma said as though reading his mind before he could answer.
“Yeah.” He said softly.
His eyes staring and searching the cold gray cement while he thought. What he found was a pair of leather boots, black tights,
black skirt, and a tight tank that said “Life sucks”.
“Do you like them?” A New
York accent asked.
“What?” Jay said sounding
confused.
“My breasts. I know you’re
not reading my tank.” She answered with a tiny laugh.
“Oh, sorry.” Jay said looking
back down at the cement.
“Wow! Jay Hogart just apologized
for staring at a girl’s boobs. And not just any girl… my cousin.” Emma said. Jay looked back up. He had
to admit the girl he was now looking at was hott. Really hott.
“Fine. I’m not sorry.”
He stood up and then looked down at the new girl. “And you are?”
“Emma, don’t you count two
ears? Cause I do.” The mystery girl said. “I’m Lexa, Emma’s cousin.”
“Well, you don’t look or
sound like, Greenpeace, here. So I’m going to assume by the clothes that you’re wearing that you’re a bad
girl and single.”
“Who said I was single?”
Lexa said with a tiny smile.
“With a skirt that short and an
ass that great… you’re single.” Jay responded. “So where you from anyways?”
“Where’s it sound like?”
She asked sarcastically.
“New York.” Jay said while
faking a New York accent.
“Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!
Emma, tell him what he’s won.” Lexa said with a laugh. Emma smiled.
“Jay Hogart, you just one the
privilege of showing my cousin around the school.” Emma said. Just then she saw Manny, JT, and Liberty. “Gotta
go!”
“Bye.” Lexa said. Then she
turned to Jay. “So you gonna show me all the rooms and closets in the school?” She asked playfully.
“Baby, if that’s what you
want, you can have it.” He said playing along.
Lexa moved closer to Jay and leaned
into whisper in his ear, “Remind me to say sorry later.” She pulled back and then headed up the steps to the doors.
Jay stood there shocked and amazed at how fast the girl was playing him.
