Jay followed Lexa inside her house.
It was small on the outside but big on the inside.
“This is it. One bedroom, one
living room, one study, one kitchen, and one bathroom.” She sniffled. “It’s not much but this is my new
crib. Bigger than the last.” Jay looked around again, and then took off his coat.
“I like it.” He said. Lexa
smiled.
“Um, there’s only one bed.”
Lexa said. “I’ll take the couch since you’re company.”
“Or I can take the couch.”
He said as he sat on the long couch. As he sat, it broke.
“Or we can share a nice comfy
bed.” Lexa decided.
“Only if you don’t snore.”
Jay joked.
“I was goin’ say the same
thing.” Lexa laughed. It was only eight o’clock.
“I’m not tired though…
are you?” Jay asked.
“Not really.” She said.
“Wanna watch some TV? I got me a flat screen in the bedroom.”
“Sure.” He said and followed
her to the bedroom.
“My bathroom is a little cluttered
so I have to change in here,” she said. Jay had just sat down but stood up once more. “You’ve seen boobs
rights?” She asked jokingly.
“Plenty.” He said coolly.
“Then you don’t have to
leave.” Lexa said putting a hand on his wrist and pulling him back to the bed. He sat there, a little confused. She
moved closer and sat on his lap, then moved so that she could put her legs around him and out on the bed.
“What are doing?” Jay said
softly.
“Well, I was going to kiss you,
but you need to shut up.” Lexa admitted.
“So the ‘being alone’
thing was just away to get me in your room?” Jay asked jokingly.
“No, I am sick of being
alone. Plus,” she added, “if I wanted you in my room, I would have had you drive here in the first place instead
of agreeing to the mall to make out in a small elevator.” She teased. Then she kissed him.
“I can’t.” Jay said
disappointing both her and him.
“Don’t you want me?”
She asked.
“God, Lexa, I want you so bad,
but if I do this then you’ll just be considered rebound.”
“I don’t care.” Lexa
said.
“I do. I like you, a lot, and
I don’t want you to get hurt.” Jay said.
Lexa kissed him and then whispered,
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For being better than what people
were saying.”
Jay smiled and then kissed her. “We
can still make out until our first date.” He said. She kissed him while taking in a deep breath.
“When would that be?” Lexa
asked anxiously.
“Friday. Movies.” He said
between breaths.
“Okay.” Lexa said. “Will
you still stay though?”
“Yeah.”
They made out for a while until they got tired. Then Lexa changed into boxers and a white t-shirt. She
told Jay he could sleep like he usually did unless it was naked. Jay, now disappointed, stripped down to just his boxers.
They curled up and held each other the rest of the night.
