Lexa pushed Jay to the other side of the small elevator. She then pushed his armed up and against the cold wall.

“I’m sorry.” She said. Once again their fingers entwined, as did their lips. Their kiss this time was longer and more passionate. Still kissing her, Jay pushed her against the wall and stripped her jacket off, as did she with his. She pulled back and looked as his tight shirt on his muscular chest. He gazed into her eyes and looked down at the heaving chest that was breathing hard.

“Do you have to go home at a certain time?” Jay asked out of curiosity.

“I live alone so I make the decisions.” She said. Then she smiled. “You gotta be back to Mommy or Daddy dearest anytime soon?”

“No.” He said.

“Wanna go back to my place?” Lexa said. “It’s a lot bigger than this small box.”

“Sure.” They put their coats back on and waited for the door to open. Once open, they were out of the mall faster than lightning.

On their way to Lexa’s place, Jay started asking questions.

“So what’s the deal with, Greenpeace?” He asked.

“You mean Emma?” Lexa corrected. “She’s my uncle’s step-father. I’m here because my mom is a drunk.” Her voice quieted as she confessed the ugly truth.

“I’m sorry.” He said sincerely.

“It’s okay.” Lexa said. She was quiet until they got to her apartment. “Um, I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” She said as she searched for her key to the small house.

“Are you okay?” Jay asked. He watched as Lexa became more nervous. A tear had fallen and that was why he had asked.

“Yeah. I just need to unpack and get some sleep.” She said. “It was fun though.”

“Just fun?” He asked. She laughed as another tear left her face. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Finally she got her key in the door.

“Yeah, I’m…” she paused. Jay put his arms around her.

“It’s okay.” He said softly. “I’ll go if you want.”

“I don’t want to be alone.” She said. “I’m so sick of being alone.” He tightened his arms around her.

“I’ll stay. I’ll stay.” He kept saying. “I won’t leave.” He told her… and he didn’t.
